My name is Kimberly Garvey and I am an artist living in Fishers, Indiana. I went to Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana where I studied graphic design and fine art. After college I lived in Los Angeles for a year and then moved to Chicago for 9 more years. I sold a lot of my paintings independently.
After my first child was born I moved back to where I grew up in central Indiana. I started painting with watercolors seriously in 2011. I've had my work in a couple of galleries locally and in Chicago, before taking a much needed break from painting.
In November 2014 my friend’s teenage daughter told me that she had seen an adult coloring book and it looked like my art. She talked me into making a coloring book. By April 30th, 2015 I had published my first coloring book for adults called Strange Designs out of my doodling sketchbooks. I never thought my doodles would be the thing that would finally make me some money. I have now published 13 coloring books on Amazon and I am continuing to draw more.
I love making the coloring books and I love coloring as well. I am also excited about selling my art in other ways. I have t-shirts for sale on Amazon. I have everything from tote bags to shower curtains for sale on Fine Art America and Cafe Press.I have an autistic teenage daughter that needs me to be there for her, selling my art has been very good for us economically while giving me the time she needs. Besides art I love to play chess. Everyone should play. It's good for your soul.
